“A mighty
and evil Jan” he concluded with anger tightening her against his body with
force.
What had
she done to him? Why was he so unfair to her?
“Let go of
me, Hakim” she asked without standing the close contact with him any longer.
That was killing her.
“Let go of
me and don't you ever dare touch me again!” she emphasized. “I don't want to
have anything to do with you. It is obvious that you think the worst of me! You
torture me. First you....hug me and then you call me names, you humiliate me,
just like....last night” she refreshed his memory with honesty.
He remained
still for a while with dark eyes that were devouring every inch of her face.
Then however he let go of her gently and got away from her.
“Things
would be better if nothing had happened between us. If you hadn't be in my way”
he finally said with heavy voice.
These words
of his hurt her. Unwittingly.
So I
shouldn't have been in his way!
“I didn't
bring myself here and I didn't invite you to my bed, if you remember well” she
answered angrily.
His
features were tightened. “Either way, it was a mistake” he came out with
contempt. “I should treat you differently.....I should hate you...” he
concluded with eyes casting fires.
She
swallowed with embarrassment to send the knot in her throat away. But he was
standing there preventing her from breathing normally.
“Right” she
finally said trying to hide her feelings. “You should hate me” she stressed,
“just like I hate you!” she concluded with spite. It was obvious that he had
regretted everything that had happened between them. It was obvious even from the night before.
Why would she even bother to discuss it with him degrading her pride like this?
What was she looking for? There was a gap between them. An abyss!
Besides, as
far as he was concerned, there were charges against her that he hadn't
discovered yet whether they were true or not. But what the heck was taking him
so long to investigate this and finally the truth to come out shining? Why
wouldn't he get over with the whole subject and let her get out of there? At
last to go back home, to her beloved parents who she had missed that much?
He remained
still across her but looked like a panther ready to attack! Her words had
infuriated him because his face was now like a stony mask. She felt like
stepping back but her pride wouldn't let her. After all, she wanted to drive
him mad, to hurt him if she could, and she had managed that somehow.
He reached
his hand and his fingers huddled around her slim arm forcing her to look him
right in the eye. In the core of a big storm.
“So you
hate me!” finally he said with a hoarse voice.
She took a
deep breath. She was feeling plenty of things for him. But she couldn't tell
him. He was her jailer, the one who was keeping her against her will away from
her home, her life. Therefore, she had to hold on well to her secret. She had
to be strong enough to endure her bad luck.
“Isn't it
what you want;” she asked almost hurting inside.
He didn't
reply to her immediately. He observed her intensely and then he drew himself
away from her leaving behind the intense marks of his contact upon her body.
“It is!”
